[day 4] pray for your husband: to love righteousness

We want our men to LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Conversely, this means they must learn to hate evil.

11-My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me. 12- A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished. Proverbs 27:11-12

Learning to hide oneself from evil requires a wisdom
that comes only from the Lord.

We should pray for this for our man!

heart

11-Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. …15-I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16- They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. John 17: 15-16

Here we are given an example from our Lord Jesus to pray for others to be kept from evil… because we are not to be OF the world even while we are IN the world!

12-Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13- There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 14- Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10:12-14

It is so easy to think we can stand in our own strength. And there will be days in which our husbands may come to this conclusion.

Let us pray that they remember:

pride in our own strength will cause us to stumble [Proverbs 16:18];

BUT God is faithful and will always be there in times of temptation.

Let us pray for our husbands
to rest in God’s strength
and keep themselves from evil
and to LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS!
